Finance Manager (Full-Time)
The City of Eldridge is seeking a leader for the full-time position of Finance Manager. This position is open immediately and will also assume the title of City Clerk upon the retirement of the current City Clerk in February 2024.
Salary range is $75,000 - $80,000, depending upon qualifications, with a full range of benefits. The Finance Manager/City Clerk works directly with and oversees 3 full time billing clerks who are responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. This position administers the financial operations of the City and Utility, maintains the official financial records of the City and Utility, and performs related work as required. Additional duties include reconciling fund and account balances, preparing ancillary financial reports, and acting as the liaison for external audits. The Finance Manager/City Clerk provides administrative support for the Mayor, City Council, Board Members, and Administration. The Finance Manager/City Clerk will attend City Council meetings and assist with the agenda and packet preparation, produce and retain the minutes, and maintain all City records. This position will also be responsible for preparing and publishing legal notices, receiving and responding to public records requests, and performing necessary election duties.
Qualifications include 3-5 years of public accounting/finance experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration or IMFOA Municipal Clerk and/or Finance Certification. Preferred experience in municipal or governmental agency accounting.

Electric Line Journeyman (Full-Time)
The City of Eldridge is accepting applications for a full-time Electric Journeyman. Under the direction of the Utility Manager/Line Superintendent, they will construct and maintain overhead and underground transmission and distribution power lines. Installs and maintains related equipment used to conduct electrical energy from generating stations through substations to customers.
The preferred candidate should be a certified Journeyman in the electric distribution field working as a lineman. A high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift 75 lbs., the ability to work off the ladder, and the ability to climb poles and towers are required. Must also have a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL license within six months from the date of hire. A graduate of a recognized Lineman Training Program is preferred. The anticipated starting pay is $42.49/hour or $88,379.20 with IPERS state retirement plan and a very competitive benefits package including health insurance, vision, dental, life, LTD/STD and flex spending. Crossing Guard (Part-Time)
The Eldridge Police Department is accepting applications for a part-time Crossing Guard. Under the direction of the School Resource Officer, the crossing guard will assist pedestrians across the street during the school year. Teach children safety habits and practice safety habits, while constantly evaluating traffic situations. While performing the duties of this job you will be exposed to temperature extremes from below zero in winter to 90 degrees or more in late spring or early fall. Employees are frequently exposed to noise from vehicular traffic, inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet, humidity, fumes from vehicles or heavy equipment.
